This biobased connector has been developed to join biobased 60/80 roof edge profiles into a clean, continuous edge finish for the green roof. The connector ensures a stable, precise joint between the profiles, without visible interruptions, and contributes to a high-quality, durable roof edge solution.
Like the roof edge profile itself, the connector is made from biobased HDPE with a biobased content of 98%. The material is dimensionally stable, durable and resistant to weathering and temperature fluctuations. As a result, the joint remains reliable throughout the entire service life of the green roof system.
An integral part of a circular roof edge system
The connector has been designed as an integral part of a circular roof edge system. Because all components are biobased, the result is a consistent whole that helps to reduce the environmental impact of green roofs. Despite its low weight, the connector has a demonstrably positive environmental impact, with a carbon footprint of –1.97 kg CO₂-eq per kilogram of material and a technical service life of approximately 50 years.
Application is simple and practical. The connector is used to join biobased 60/80 roof edge profiles and ensures a neat, stable connection. It is installed by bonding with a suitable adhesive sealant; mechanical fixing is not required. This reduces installation time and leaves the roof construction intact.

The product is supplied packaging-free, which avoids unnecessary packaging material and further reduces the environmental impact of the logistics chain. As there is no individual packaging, the I’M Green label is not displayed on the product or its packaging. The certification does fully apply, however: the biobased HDPE used is demonstrably made from renewable raw materials. This choice underlines our focus on genuine sustainability rather than visible labelling.

No. We use “drop-in” bioplastics. This means that the chemical structure (polyethylene) is exactly the same as that of the fossil-based version. It is not biodegradable, but it is bio-produced. Its service life of 50 to 100 years remains fully guaranteed.

New Circle develops biobased roof edge profiles and separation profiles from 100% biobased HDPE, made from renewable raw materials. (Production may contain some residual material, which is why we guarantee a minimum of 98% biobased HDPE.) The profiles are dimensionally stable, impact-resistant, UV-resistant and resistant to the weather and temperature fluctuations. With a technical service life of around 50 years, a carbon footprint of -1.97 kg CO₂-eq per kilogram of material and a 10-year guarantee, they offer a demonstrably sustainable alternative to traditional aluminium roof edge profiles.
