From smart automation to tangible design: meet Lara Bakker!
As a Marketing & Communications intern, Lara is certainly not sitting still at New Circle. She is currently working on a communication plan to automate our email traffic, so we can help customers faster and more clearly.
But that’s not all: Lara will soon start designing the new packaging for our biobased adhesive. The goal? A design that instantly conveys the sustainable strength of the product.
I would like to develop my design skills further. I’d like to become more proficient in Adobe InDesign, so I can create designs more independently and professionally. That seems like a great next step for me.
The biggest misconception about biobased and circular construction is that it is supposedly less reliable or of lower quality. Yet these materials meet exactly the same strict requirements as traditional construction!
What do you enjoy most about working at New Circle, and how would you describe the work culture?
What I enjoy most is definitely the really nice, friendly people, which simply makes for a good atmosphere at work. You quickly feel at ease and you can always turn to someone if you have a question or need help with something. That makes working together not only easier, but also a lot more fun.
I also like the flexibility in where you work. You can work in the office, which is sociable and motivating, but you can also choose to work from home. That combination creates a good balance and simply makes this a pleasant place to work. So I would describe the work culture at New Circle as open, engaged and informal.
“The tip I’d give new employees is to just be yourself here.”
“After work you can find me at the gym, and I enjoy running, but most of all I love doing fun things with my family and friends.”
“What not many people know about me is that I’m absolutely terrified of spiders. Big or small, I just can’t stand the little creatures.”
