From vision to impact: meet co-owner Kevin Loomans!
As co-owner of New Circle, Kevin is quite literally in the engine room of our company. Every day he works on the direction of the organisation, from product development to forging the perfect link between marketing and sales. His passion lies in leading R&D, so that we keep innovating in the world of sustainable construction.
In your view, what is the biggest misconception about circular or biobased construction?
“People often think reuse alone is enough, but building in a future-proof way takes more than that. It’s simply not possible to build fully circular with the materials that are common today. To become truly fossil-free, switching to biobased raw materials is essential!”
What does Kevin like best about New Circle? The dynamism of our young, inspiring team. “Everyone has their own passion and personal goals, but we all work on our social mission with the same drive. Making that impact together gives me a huge amount of energy.”
He describes our company culture as a place with a crystal-clear vision where everyone feels at home. It is an environment where personal development and each other’s values and beliefs are genuinely appreciated.
This is the tip he would give every new employee to make an impact straight away: “A big goal can seem overwhelming. So break projects down into small, manageable objectives. That way you see results immediately, keep track of the bigger picture and make a difference from day one.”
Besides his work, which he also sees as his hobby, Kevin is a real sports enthusiast. You’ll find him on the volleyball court, the squash court or the tennis court.
And finally, what don’t many people know about Kevin? “I absolutely love being out on the golf course, but to be honest, I’m really not very good at it!”
