Peel test: exploring the strength of biobased adhesive

Biobased adhesive peel test

At New Circle, we believe in collaboration. With partners, with clients and certainly with education too. Because only by sharing knowledge and networks can we move forward. That is why, in our JTF project on demountable biobased adhesive, we are working with students from Avans Hogeschool in Breda.

In the Avans laboratory, we carry out what is known as the T-peel test together with students. This test measures how much force is needed to pull two bonded materials apart. It is an important step, because we want our biobased adhesive to bond well, yet still be releasable when needed.

The first results are promising. Based on these outcomes, we will carry out a joint evaluation. This will show whether any further steps are needed, such as adding biobased additives to further increase the bond strength.

This project is a great example of how we work at New Circle: hands-on, innovative and together with others. In this way, we contribute to a circular construction sector in which materials are not lost but given a new lease of life.
