Meet Justin van der Vinne! Or, as we like to call him, our all-rounder.
Justin is highly versatile and takes on several roles at New Circle: he handles HR, marketing and facilities tasks, and supervises students as well.
No two days are the same for Justin. His work (mainly) ranges from time registration and supervising students to organising and maintaining our internal Google Drive folder and a variety of marketing activities.
Justin is a real go-getter. He makes sure our online environment runs smoothly and that new students feel at home straight away. His own focus for the coming months? Developing his leadership skills further.
In his view, the biggest misconception about circularity and biobased construction is that the products seem more expensive at first glance, whereas in many cases they actually save more money in the long run than they cost in the first place.
“What I enjoy most about working at New Circle is the freedom to plan my own working weeks and choose the tasks that appeal to me most. I also love that I’m given a lot of responsibility, which gives me the chance to develop myself as much as possible.”
How would you describe the culture at New Circle?
“The atmosphere in the office is really nice. Everyone makes time for a chat and treats each other as equals. We generally have quite a young team in the office, and you can see that in the culture at work.”
Justin’s tip for new employees is not to be afraid to ask. Everyone is open to a chat and happy to help you get started.
Now for something more personal about Justin: he loves playing sport and doing fun things with friends and his girlfriend. “Sport is really my passion,” he says. “I play football, futsal and padel and go to the gym, and I watch lots of different sports on TV too.” One of the things he enjoys most is spending time with his girlfriend, for example walking in the woods or sitting out on a terrace.
“What a lot of people don’t know about me is that Iceland is the most beautiful country I’ve ever been to.”
