Ferdy has joined New Circle as Account Manager for Housing Associations and Circularity.
His first big mission? Drawing up a strategic plan to involve housing associations more closely in our innovative, biobased products. To make this happen, he is currently gathering plenty of information and talking with housing associations. The goal is clear: find out how we can best support them in truly making the transition to circular construction possible.
Ferdy brings a good deal of valuable experience from the world of housing associations. He knows better than anyone how a client looks at products and what matters, not only for the housing association itself but especially for the tenants.
The biggest misconception about biobased construction? According to Ferdy, it is the idea that biobased products break down faster or need more maintenance than fossil-based alternatives. “New Circle brings materials to market that are at least as good as, or even better than, the fossil alternative. The problem is often that these biobased products are still unknown to housing associations. Time to change that!”
The culture at New Circle Ferdy describes the atmosphere within the company as practical, entrepreneurial and attentive. For him, it immediately felt like a warm landing. “Everyone easily strikes up a conversation. On top of that, meetings are short and to the point; time management is taken very seriously here. It is a dynamic, fresh company with a clear vision for the future, and that makes working here great fun.”
His tip for new colleagues: “Join others often and ask questions to the people who have been here longer. Shadow someone for a day or sit next to a colleague you don’t usually work with. That really helps to broaden your view of the company!”
Sporty in his free time Outside office hours, Ferdy is a very keen athlete. Now that it’s summer, you will mostly find him on the sand playing beach volleyball. He is also regularly on the padel court or in the gym.
Finally, what most people don’t (yet) know about Ferdy… Ferdy used to play volleyball at the very highest level! He played indoor volleyball in the Dutch Eredivisie and even held official Olympic status as a beach volleyball player at the time. At a young age, however, he decided to fully commit to his professional career, so volleyball is now his favourite hobby.
