Building a Circular Economy Together

The construction sector is changing—toward greater sustainability, circularity, and innovation. At New Circle, we are driving this transformation with circular and biobased solutions for applications on and around the roof. This is made possible in part by the Just Transition Fund (JTF), a European stimulus fund that supports regions transitioning to a more sustainable economy.

What is the JTF?

The Just Transition Fund was established to help regions that rely on fossil industries make the shift to a greener and more sustainable economy. In the Netherlands, the fund targets regions like IJmond, where innovation in the construction sector contributes to a more sustainable future.

How is New Circle contributing?

With support from the JTF, we are developing a biobased adhesive method that takes circular construction to the next level. Traditional adhesives contain harmful chemicals and make it difficult to reuse building materials. Our biobased adhesive offers the solution:

  • Detachable – materials remain intact and can easily be reused.
  • Biobased – no fossil raw materials, only natural and renewable ingredients.
  • Circular – prevents waste and reintegrates materials into the construction chain.

Impact on the IJmond Region

Thanks to the JTF, New Circle can not only realize a sustainable construction innovation but also contribute to employment and education in the region. We do this by collaborating with wholesalers, roofers, and training institutes to expand knowledge and skills in circular construction. In this way, we strengthen not only the circular economy but also the local community.
